Residential Window Films
Whether you would like more privacy, protect your flooring, artwork and furnature from the sun, or beat the heat without obstructing your view, we have a residential window film that can suit your needs!
How our window film protects your home and family:
Visible Light
This is the wavelength of light that is visible to the human eye. Some of our privacy films are reflective and therefore make the room a little darker, due to filtering visible light. Side note: Visible light is partially responsible for fading furniture and finishes.
Silver Dual Reflective Film is an example of a highly reflective film that filters visible light to a greater degree than other films I use. This film is a good choice if privacy is the main objective. Below you can see this film from the exterior.
Ultra Violet Radiation
Ultra Violet Radiation is the wavelength of energy coming from the sun that causes sunburns and is one of the principle causes of fading home interiors. UV radiation has also been linked to skin cancer, eye problems, premature aging and immune system suppression. ( Heres a quick link to the EPA website regarding exposure to UV radiation )
Great news! All the films I use block 98 - 99% of UV Radiation, protecting your family and furniture from harmful UV over exposure in your home.
Infrared Radiation
Infrared Radiation is the wavelenth of energy we actually feel as heat. Infrared Radition can come from the Sun, or from a wood stove or radiator. (Heres an interesting link to the NASA website explaining the science in a little more detail.)
A building that has large windows is often hotter in the summer and colder in the winter, in part due to transmission of Infrared Radiation through glass.
An example of a film I use that blocks very little visible light therefore not obstructing the view but hindering the transmission of Infrared Radiation through glass is Ultra-Vision DS 50.
